winter intensive in Chicago

Join us for a week-long intensive exploring FLOCK’s signature movement style, collaborative practices, and approach to non-gendered partnering. This immersive course emphasizes the power of community and the creative possibilities that arise through shared exploration. Together, we’ll dive into new ways of experiencing movement and deepening awareness of your own physicality in connection with others.

• Each day will begin with a FLOCK warm-up designed to awaken the body and mind. Breathwork, strengthening, improvisation, group tasks, and dynamic movement will prepare you to unlock new potential.

• From there, we’ll work with excerpts from FLOCK’s repertoire, guiding you through both the physical and emotional layers of the choreography.

• In addition, we’ll focus on creation with an emphasis on discovering how to tap into your personal artistry, both individually and in partnership.

• Daily group discussions will provide space for reflection, conversation, and exploration of industry questions. These sessions allow the entire group to connect, share discoveries, and support each other.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

For professional/pre-professional artists.

A CV or artist statement. 

Video of 2 minutes max. Your video should share your artistry, how you move through space, your extremes, and your individuality. Can be choreography or improvisation. No instagram or highly edited videos.
