open call for Choreographers - FLOCK’s International dance festival

We invite choreographers with distinct, curious, and resonant artistic voices to apply for participation in an international dance festival in Schwäbisch Hall, Germany, taking place October 28 – October 31 2026.
We are seeking works to be presented within a mixed-bill festival context, alongside film screenings, alternative-space performances, and community engagement.
✦ ELIGIBLE WORKS
Length: 5–20 minutes
Formats welcome:
Solos, duets, trios, small group works (up to 4 dancers)
Pieces should be created for stage, we are not accepting films at this time.
We are especially interested in work that reflects a unique choreographic voice, pieces that are rigorous, poetic, bold, intimate, or surprising.
✦ ARTIST SUPPORT
Each selected work will receive:
Solos of 5-10 minutes $1,000
Duets 10-15 minutes $2,000
Trios 10-20 minutes $3,000
Group of 4 dancers 15-20 minutes $4,000
Housing provided in Schwäbisch Hall for the festival period (travel is not covered)
Performance opportunity within a professionally curated international festival
Inclusion in festival documentation and promotion

✦ ARTIST PARTICIPATION
In addition to performing their selected piece artists are expected to:
Teach one workshop during the festival week
Participate in Q&A sessions and public conversations around their work
These exchanges are an essential part of the festival’s mission to foster dialogue between artists and the local community.
